Hello authors!

It’s 2016, and to celebrate the beginning of a new year, Sweet Cherry are happy to announce that we are now open for submissions once more.

Last year was a very busy one for our editorial team, who worked on lots of new and exciting projects, rushed around book fairs in the search of exciting foreign-language titles to publish, and sifted through more manuscripts than ever before. This is all very exciting, and we hope that Sweet Cherry continues to reach new heights in 2016.

What this does mean is that this year, we’ve decided to change our approach towards our submissions. Last year we had such an influx of manuscripts that we were forced to close submissions in order to be able to go through them all. We’re very passionate about making sure that we can keep accepting unsolicited manuscripts and giving new authors a voice though, so we’ve made a decision. Although previously we aimed to reply to every submission that landed in our inbox with feedback, unfortunately, this is no longer something that we can guarantee. This means that we can spend more of our time concentrating on the important part – on making sure that we can put more focus on the manuscripts you send us.

In a nutshell: this year we will continue to read every single manuscript that comes in. If we’re interested in your manuscript, we’ll contact you within three months with feedback and further advice, and if you haven’t heard back from us in three months, you can assume that your manuscript has been unsuccessful. If this happens, don’t be discouraged: the publishing industry is very subjective, and a project that doesn’t suit us may well be perfect for another company, so keep on sending your work out there!

We can’t wait to read all the thrilling new stories you’ll send our way this year, and we wish you all the very best of luck with your manuscripts! You can find more information on our submission guidelines here.
