Sweet Cherry’s Neurodiverse Adventure Novel Hits the Shelves (Before Hitting Paris!)

In 2021, award-winning children’s publisher Sweet Cherry Publishing acquired the worldwide rights to Luxembourg-based author Isabelle Marinov’s debut middle-grade novel, Boy Underground. Now, after two incredible years of work, the book will reach shopfloors across the globe.

Boy Underground follows Hugo, a 12-year-old boy on the autism spectrum who hates bright lights and LOVES all things map-related!

Hugo ventures deep into the Paris underground to find a place where he belongs. It’s safe to say he ends up finding a whole lot more: masked robbers, rekindled friendships and a monster dwelling in the darkness!

When asked about this exciting release, Marinov said: “I can’t wait for Boy Underground to reach its audience. This novel means so much to me. It’s a story about a 12-year-old map-obsessed boy on the autism spectrum, inspired by my son and my experience of loving him. With an exciting adventure, a thrilling heist and themes of friendship and belonging, I hope that this book and its characters will inspire young readers for years to come.”

The novel was published by a talented team of editors, designers and illustrators at Leicester-based independent publisher Sweet Cherry Publishing.
