Understanding EUDR

Here at Sweet Cherry Publishing, we are passionate about creating engaging and imaginative books while also protecting our planet for future generations. This is why we are dedicated to making sure all our books comply with the EU Deforestation-Free Regulation (EUDR).

What is EUDR?

  • The EU Deforestation-Free Regulation guarantees that products sold from the EU will no longer contribute to global deforestation and forest degradation by ensuring that products placed on the EU market are deforestation-free.
  • The EUDR entered into force on 29th June 2023 and will apply to larger companies from the 30th December 2025.

Sweet Cherry’s commitment

  • We are working collectively with global suppliers to ensure the use of the EUDR requirements.
  • Sweet Cherry has been printing using FSC®-certified materials since 2023, collaborating with printers who also have the FSC® Chain of Custody certification.
  • Keeping Up to Date: We’re staying on top of the latest EU rules to make sure everything we do is responsible and fully compliant.
  • Stronger Checks, Smarter Choices: We’re improving how we track and review our supply chain, from where our materials come from to how they’re used, so we can make better, more informed decisions.

By making thoughtful, responsible changes today, we’re helping protect the planet, and inspiring a more sustainable future for the children we publish for.
