Permissions

For teachers and librarians seeking permission to share video and audio recordings of our books online:

We appreciate that the traditional learning environment has changed and it is important to keep children reading, whether at home or somewhere else outside of the classroom.

Sweet Cherry permits teachers and librarians to create online video recordings of our books to share with their students. The following guidelines apply when reproducing our books and intellectual property (IP) online.

Sweet Cherry permits teachers and librarians to:

  • Share recorded videos of themselves reading and displaying our books online on closed educational platforms, such as Blackboard and Google Classroom
  • Share recorded videos of themselves reading and displaying our books online on YouTube, given that the video is uploaded as “Unlisted” or ‘Private” with the link shared privately and only with their students, and not listed as “Public” on YouTube

Rules for permitted use:

  • Video content must be removed from all platforms within 30 days of uploading
  • After acknowledging the author and/or illustrator, the following wording must be stated at the beginning of the video: “with permission from Sweet Cherry Publishing Limited”

These permissions guidelines only apply to teachers and librarians for non-commercial use.
