Richard Usher
Richard Usher is an actor, stage performer, and voice-over artist with a love for storytelling. He is known for his adaptable and mellifluous vocal style, which can be upbeat, lively, conversational, warm, or informative. His experience includes collaborations with Birmingham Comedy Festival, York Festival of Ideas, NeuNoir Theatre Company, the BBC, the Readmio App and Sweet Cherry Publishing, as well as corporate films and radio commercials in the UK and Europe.
Richard is a seasoned comedy performer who has toured theatres in stage adaptations of the BBC Radio comedy shows, The Goon Show! and The Navy Lark! And the world premiere of Vacant Lot, a lost Larry Stephens comedy written for Tony Hancock.
As a voice artist, Richard can infuse passion, playfulness, or gravitas into his scripts. He is also a character voice performer who can deliver a wide range of unique sounding creations. Richard has recorded many audiobooks for award winning Sweet Cherry Publishing and Every Cherry imprint, including collections of Shakespeare Stories for Children, Sherlock Holmes, and accessible adaptations of literary classics like Frankenstein, A Christmas Carol, Moby Dick and Dracula.
