Royalties and Contracts Manager


Department: Accounts

Reports to: Finance Director

Based: Head Office (Leicester)

The Role:

In this role, you will be an integral member of Sweet Cherry’s growing team. We have an opportunity for someone to lead the Royalties function.
The Royalties & Contracts Manager will be responsible for the payment of advances and royalties, the administration of sub-rights income and the
production of Royalty statements. They will also be responsible for ensuring that all contracts are uploaded correctly to Stison and that key data is recorded accurately. This is a key role for the team and will require an end-to-end process-driven approach, whilst working closely with internal departments to ensure royalty payments are made on time.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Managing the whole royalties function and team
  • Creating and implementing process changes
  • Being a key member of the implementation team for a new Royalties system, migrating systems into one centralised database
  • Maintaining the Royalty system; improving controls, processes and efficiencies
  • Managing statement preparation
  • Checking sub-rights statements and debt management
  • Negotiating contracts and logging them on the internal system

Experience in working with royalties systems is essential, alongside an excellent understanding of working with complex contracts. Strong communication skills are a must, with the ability to work with authors, agents, and key internal stakeholders to build excellent relationships and will have strong communication, analytical and organisation skills, with high attention to detail.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Solid royalty accounting experience is essential
  • Familiarity with different contracts
  • Experience using royalty accounting software

Working Hours: 40 hrs/week, Monday – Friday (flexible)
Core office hours: 9.30am – 4.30pm
(30 minute or 1 hour lunch unpaid)

Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays

Location: Leicester, potential opportunity for flexible working can be considered

Starting salary: Flexible, based on experience
