[PRESS RELEASE – 20 AUGUST 2021]
Children’s author and yoga teacher Lauren Hoffmeier joins Brooklyn Book Festival lineup

Brooklyn Heights-based children’s author and vinyasa yoga teacher, Lauren Hoffmeier, has been selected to join the Brooklyn Book Festival’s author lineup for their 2021 event.
Published by award-winning UK indie Sweet Cherry Publishing earlier this Spring, Lauren will be reading from her debut children’s picture book, Mula and the Fly: A Fun Yoga Story, and delivering live yoga and mindfulness sessions for kids on the festival’s Children’s Day, on October 2nd.

Lauren Hoffmeier said: ‘I am thrilled to participate in such an auspicious event and to be among such a strong pool of talented writers – in my own backyard!’
To launch Mula and the Fly, Lauren has been offering book signings, yoga events and readings to the local Brooklyn community, headlining the first 2021 in-person children’s event with the popular Brooklyn bookstore, Books Are Magic.
She aims to promote the benefits of yoga and mindfulness for children and was recently featured in YOGA Magazine, NY Yoga + Life magazine and NewsBreak.
Also included in the lineup of children’s authors at the Brooklyn Book Festival are award-winning YA authors Gayle Forman and David
Levithan and New York Times bestselling author Alexandra Penfold. The Brooklyn Book Festival, which will run from September 26th to October 4th 2021, is New York City’s largest free literary festival that connects readers with local, national and international authors and publishers during the course of a celebratory literary week. Local readers and children are encouraged to attend, meet authors and get involved with fun book events.
