AUTHOR PROFILE
Sabrina Shah
Sabrina is from the heartland of England, UK. She spent over ten years as a publishing professional selling other authors books, before pursuing her dream of writing her own. She writes a mix of fun and lyrical picture books that are full of heart, spooky middle-grade mysteries and young adult novels.
Her stories are inspired by her dual British-Pakistani culture and Muslim faith.
Sabrina is a member of SCBWI, 12×12 Picture Book Challenge and the Golden Egg Academy for which she won the Golden Egg award for upcoming Middle Grade talent. She also won The WriteMentor Summer Picture Book Mentoring Programme and both the 2023 and 2022 Kid’s Choice Kitlit Writing contests with her YA short stories.
Sabrina champions diversity in publishing. She is a founding member of the South Asian Scribe Squad, a collaboration of south asian female writers who give back to the writing community.
Amongst her passion for writing, she is a colossal foodie and baker, with her own food blog and coffee-table cookbook projects.
She currently lives with her husband and two children on the little red dot called Singapore.
Fun facts – Sabrina used to be a Radio DJ and was a member of her school’s motorbike club. Her rainy day favorites are a cup of chai and a plate of pakoras. Supposedly she has an uncanny childhood resemblance to Christina Ricci.
